FIRST HUG Program

(Ages 0-middle school)

First Hug is especially designed for families struggling with homelessness (regardless of their legal status). They do personalized case management. Their goal is to ensure that the family is stabilized, safe, ready to learn, succeed and are stress free.  They can provide or connect you with community resources and referrals to make sure the kids are ready for school. They reduce barriers to school attendance and success for children between the ages of 5 to middle school. They help parents build positive relationships with their child’s school to increase their opportunity for success.  They provide FREE developmental screenings for ages 0 to 5. Another of one of their goals is Family Stabilization and Family Strengthening, meaning they can assess the unique needs of your family and work together to develop a client-driven self-sufficiency plan.

Visit their website for more information or to apply for care: https://www.metromin.org/our-work/family-support/
