Tampa Bay Summer Hires
Tampa Bay Summer Hires is the summer employment program for youth 16-24 years old managed by CareerSource Tampa Bay. They are hiring a large number of staff to support the youth participants at $17/hr. Contact Jemelle Wilds ( wildsj@careersourcetb.com ) for details.
This program provides learning rich subsidized work experience that offers youth an opportunity to earn $13/hour and gain valuable skills in the field of their choice. The WIOA Program Funding availability is officially reopened as of 7/20/2021! If you are needing tuition assistance or want to receive education & training services, please apply for the program.
- The WIOA program can include assistance with instructional costs, books, materials, and uniforms/supplies. The primary focus of this funding is education and training for one of this area’s targeted occupations. Upon completion of an approved training program, CareerSource Tampa Bay will help match your skills with jobs that are currently in demand.
The WIOA program is geared towards customer choice. Individuals who are interested in training services are invited to review and research the options presented on the approved training provider list.

The Education Coordinator will be housed at an after-school site or work remotely and will help recruit, train and retain Reading All-Stars volunteers, identify the children who will receive tutoring, spend time reading with the students, administer the assessments for each student, collect data and provide regular reports to United Way Suncoast (UWS).
