On Friday, March 27, 2020, the President signed into law the CARES Act, which contains $376 billion in relief for American workers and small businesses.

Types of Loans

As of July 2021, the SBA continues to offer COVID-19 financial assistance relief for small businesses across the country. At this time, the following types of assistance are available:

The SBA is no longer offering Payroll Protection Program (PPP) loans as of May 31, 2021.

Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers to Plan and Respond to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

To prevent stigma and discrimination in the workplace, use only the guidance described in the below link to determine risk of COVID-19 infection. Do not make determinations of risk based on race or country of origin and be sure to maintain confidentiality of people with confirmed coronavirus infection. There is much more to learn about the transmissibility, severity, and other features of COVID-19 and investigations are ongoing.

Bootcamp for Businesses Starting in January 2022! 

United Way Suncoast and the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council will be partnering with the Bootstrap Business School to host the Bootstrap Business Camp starting January 8th, 2022 and running until January 22nd, 2022. Full scholarships are available for all applicants (worth $2,700) which means this program is FREE! This 2-week camp is good for anyone who wants to start a business or grow an existing business (especially if your current business needs help with marketing and learning how to make a profit).

The camp will be run entirely virtual.
